TCRC Meeting

Please note: our meeting is one week earlier than usual due to rose show setup on June 20th.

June is National Rose month and that means it’s time for rose shows. This year’s rose show is an American Style show in collaboration with the Minnesota Rose Society and TCRC – Celebrating Timeless Beauty: An Anniversary of Roses. It will be held at Bachman’s on Lyndale Avenue So on Saturday June 21- Sunday, June 22. Schedules for the show are available on this website and will also be available in printed form at tonight’s meeting.

Tonight’s meeting will be a double header. First, we will be giving you a chance to ask your rose growing questions of our expert panel: Donny Bechtle, Maggie Loftboom and a person to be announced. Before questions, we will give each one a chance to tell us how they got interested in growing roses and their worst rose experience.In the second part of the program, Maggie will discuss the rose show and answer any questions you might have. New members who might be thinking of exhibiting in our rose show, this is your chance to get all your exhibiting questions answered. And this year’s show will include 14 photography classes, so don’t overlook that section of the schedule and submit your best rose photos.

What is meant by frontal presentation? What’s the difference between exhibition form and decorative form? What is wedging and how do you use it? What’s an exhibitor number and how do I get one? What’s the correct way to fill out an entry tag?

If this is your first – or your 31st – rose show, this meeting is a must for you to attend and a good review for the seasoned exhibitor. Remember, you need not be a member of TCRC to enter your roses ( or your photos) in the show. Come to tonight’s meeting to learn the ins and outs and the fine points of exhibiting.
