Bristly Rose Slugs
Photos thanks to Carole. They might be small but these Bristly Rose Slugs (sawfly larvae) can do some serious damage to a rose in a short amount of time. Control for these little buggers include hand removal, neem oil or insecticidal soaps. See below for some links to more info.
Japanese Beetle
I guess living in our cool climate does not make us immune to these very destructive pests. Not classified as established here yet, but they’ve been spotted in local gardens.
