~ Rose of the Month ~
June 2008

The Lady

June's rose of the month is The Lady, a yellow blend hybrid tea introduced in 1985. It was named to celebrate the centenary of a British magazine of the same name. The blooms are large, honey yellow with high centers and exhibition form. They are borne singly or in clusters but always on long stems. Lightly fragrant, The Lady blooms throughout summer and autumn. The bush is average height and has mid-green, semi-glossy leaves. As with all hybrid teas, it requires winter protection in our Zone 4. A note about our rose of the month selections: We choose only roses grown in local gardens. The photos are all taken in those gardens and unretouched. Our goal is to celebrate the roses we know and love and share them with you. We hope you like them too!
