2002: The Year of the Rose |
 |
| |
Summer, 2002 We are donating
group plantings of 5 hardy shrub roses to ten different public gardens.
We hope to make each recipient City a designated "Rose City".
Here are the photos of the gardens we've donated to so far. (click

| Elena
Williams cared for five Aunt Honey Buck Roses that were donated
to the Noerenberg Park in western Hennepin County, near Crystal
Bay on Lake Minnetonka. Arla Charmichael, Head Gardener, added
the roses to their perennial gardens. |

| Elena Williams cared for five Rose de Resch
roses that were donated to Holz Farm Park in Eagan. A group
of volunteers, know as "Friends of the Farm" and
the Eagan Garden Club, planted the roses. |

| Barb Peterson took care of five Aunt Honey roses for Lyndale
Garden. On a rainy morning, June 24, they were delivered to
the garden for planting. YOTR Co-chair, Kim Loomis is shown
with the five roses. As the rain diminished, Elena and Kim
toured the garden and saw some favorite hybrid teas - Astrid
Lindgren, Brass Band, Love and Peace and one interesting yellow
tea, in the ARS test garden, which was labeled R303. |
